Aral Sea Evolution Interactive Map

Launch date: August 1, 2005

The map is designed to illustrate how the Aral Sea was depleting.

By moving the red pointer through years you could see the main parameters of the Aral Sea in 1957-2003 (+forecast for 2010) but the most important is a chance to see how the Sea has been sinking.

In addition you could try to guess how much water should be added to the Aral Sea in order to prevent its dry-out.

Sixteen maps have been found and sketched for creating this dynamic map.

This map replaced a table of 10 columns and 56 lines.
