International Cooperation Institute of the German Association for People’s Universities (IIZ/DVV)

IIZ/DVV supports project development and program implementation in the field of adult education providing unemployed and socially vulnerable groups of population with enhanced capabilities to earn income or learn a new profession.

IIZ/DVV strives to have low-income groups of population increase their income, involve individuals in working process, disseminate the “help yourself” idea and reinforce the role of the woman in society.

IIZ/DVV cooperates with the International Council for Adult Education (ICAE), European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA), Asian South Pacific Bureau of Adult Education (ASPBAE), Latin American Council for Adult Education (CEAAL), UNESCO Institute for Education (UIE) and other international organizations for adult education.

In the late 2002 IIZ/DVV opened a project bureau for the Central-Asian region in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). The Bureau operates on the basis of inter-governmental agreements between the Federal Republic of Germany and countries of the Central Asian region.
